Master final table strategy with proven tactics. Tournament strategy from experienced MTT grinders.
## Final Table Strategy Reaching a final table is the culmination of hours of play, and the pay jumps become significant. The difference between 9th place and 1st place can be 10-20x the buy-in, making every decision at the final table disproportionately important. ICM dominates final table play. Short stacks should look for profitable shove spots. Medium stacks should be cautious — laddering up through pay jumps has real dollar value. Big stacks should pressure medium stacks who are trying to survive to higher pay levels. When you reach heads-up, ICM pressure disappears and it becomes a pure poker match. Adjust your strategy dramatically — play extremely aggressively, raise most buttons, and do not let your opponent play passively into a chip lead. Heads-up is where fortunes are won and lost. ## Tournament Rakeback Reminder Tournament buy-in fees count toward your rakeback tier at most rooms. When evaluating tournaments, factor in the effective discount from your rakeback percentage. A $10+$1 tournament at 40% rakeback effectively costs $10.60 after rakeback — a meaningful savings over thousands of entries.
