## Bounty Tournament Strategy
Standard bounty tournaments award a fixed cash prize for every player you eliminate. Unlike progressive knockouts (PKOs), the bounty does not increase as you eliminate more players. Strategy adjustments are similar to PKOs but less pronounced.
The bounty adds direct value to every elimination. Calculate the bounty as a percentage of the buy-in to determine how much it should widen your calling range. If the bounty is worth 25% of the buy-in, your calling ranges should be noticeably wider than in a standard tournament.
Covering opponents is especially valuable in bounty tournaments because only the player who makes the final elimination wins the bounty. If you and another player both have an opponent covered, the one who makes the killing blow gets the prize.
## Tournament Rakeback Reminder
Tournament buy-in fees count toward your rakeback tier at most rooms. When evaluating tournaments, factor in the effective discount from your rakeback percentage. A $10+$1 tournament at 40% rakeback effectively costs $10.60 after rakeback — a meaningful savings over thousands of entries.
